Joby can effectively engage all echelons of society and positively encounter all parts of the community.  His inclusive, open approach underpinned by his natural reliance on te reo Māori me ōna tikanga (the Māori language and all its practices), his quick wit and clear communication style provides him a unique approach of building relationships in an authentic way.  Joby holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Auckland and a Bachelor of Māori Performing Arts from Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi.

Joby, along with his whanau, leads Hātea Kapa Haka and actively supports local government and community events. He is regularly invited to speak and present to school staff, boards of trustees, early childhood forums, community health, tertiary and sports forums. He is a motivational speaker and a skilled facilitator.
