"My new purpose in life is to make work, work better for people. Because it can be a great source of joy – but also pain. I want it to be mostly the former"
“A designer at heart and by trade, Melissa now see’s herself as a catalyst of people’s futures”.
Melissa has spent a lifetime living and learning the ‘world of work’. Starting her career in NZ she quickly migrated to some global leadership roles within some of the world’s largest corporations, including Microsoft (UK), Barclays (UK) and Cantor Fitzgerald (USA). She has navigated a broad range of cultures, industries, products & services and has learnt some valuable lessons about the role and impact that business can have on people’s lives – and the communities they live in.
Returning to NZ in 2012 she embarked on a new learning journey – mastering the craft of Human Centred Design, having been to and worked directly with the Stanford D-School in California. This new toolbox opened up a new opportunity for Melissa to have more impact in her work.
Since then she has worked with 1000s of teams and individuals to activate real change in business – and in their personal lives – to help create more fulfilling, purposeful and sustainable working lives. Active in training teams in both Human Centred Design, as well as working with groups and individuals to build ‘careers to love’.
Her latest product “How to Build a Career to Love” is a fully online course people can access globally, to help build new career paths and make choices about what they want from work more easily and cost effectively.
“I’m proud to have helped thousands of people design high impact businesses, work and lives, and promise to bring my 3 principles of courage, curiosity and creativity to the table – as that is how we will all collectively grow value”.
