"I love to support people to solve problems"
Nō Poland, nō England ōku tīpuna. I whanau mai ki Scotland, I tipu ake ahau ki Glasgow. Kei te noho ahau ki Ōtautahi. Kō Jenn tōku ingoa.
I moved to Ōtautahi Christchurch with my now wife in 2014 after a few years in Wellington. We love the easy access to the hills and mountains surrounding Christchurch. My day job is in the philanthropic sector, to create positive change for young people by supporting groups to facilitate development of ideas.
What feels like a long time ago, I qualified as a lawyer in Scotland (and in NZ!) but describe myself a ‘reluctant lawyer’ (non-practising!) believing the law can be a useful tool or provide some structure in thinking about justice and equity issues. Working with and for charities has given me a perspective far beyond law. Now I focus my energy on supporting organisations to develop thinking and strategy for longer lasting change to achieve equitable outcomes. My strengths include learner, relator and analytical, always looking for an idea that can be added or connected.
