Reihana Dougherty (Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Ngāti Maniapoto, Ngāti Hauā) currently resides in Ōtautahi with her 7 year old son. She has recently made a transition from working with businesses in the telecommunications sector, to supporting the leadership team and rangatahi at Beckenham Te Kura o Pūroto. She is in her second term on the Oranga Tamariki Youth Advisory Group and is a tuakana to the care experienced rōpū with the Puāwai programme.
Reihana also contributes to Te Rōpū Pūmanawa who consult with the Ministerial Advisory Board and advocate for the voices of tamariki, rangatahi and lived experience to be present throughout all decision making within the current and future Care System.
Reihana spoke recently at the LinC 2021 Activator#3: August 5th, 6-8pm on the topic of The Power of Storytelling.
