The Covid Rāhui brought into stark reality the inequality that exists for our young people within education. Eru and Cheryl will share some new and innovative ways for education leaders to actively support the creation of an equitable future for Aotearoa, New Zealand. Dr Eru Tarena
Eru (Ngāi Tahu, Ngāi Tūāhuriri) is the Kaihautū/Executive Director of Tokona te Raki, a Ngāi Tahu social innovation lab focused on achieving equity for all Maori and Ngāi Tahu in the Ngāi Tahu takiwa by 2040. His team works across three key areas; future-focused insights/research, building the capability for Ngāi Tahu to lead innovation and supporting partners to transform their practices.
Dr Cheryl Doig
Cheryl is a leadership futurist with an extensive background in education and governance. She is a frequent contributor on social media and blogs at www.thinkbeyond.co.nz. Cheryl is a senior consultant at Leadership Lab, a leader in Grow Waitaha and a trustee of Ako Ōtautahi, Learning City Christchurch. She has been on the boards of three start-up schools and is currently board chair of the NZ Brain Research Institute. Cheryl believes that digital equity is critical not just for schools, but for our communities and country. He angitu mō te kotahi, he hua mō te katoa.
