Chris is an incredible facilitator and has a huge depth of knowledge when it comes to leadership development. You come away from a session with Chris with a bunch of new and practical leadership skills that make a real difference. I highly recommend Chris to anyone looking at developing their leadership capacity
Duncan Wood - Acting Director at Ao Tawhiti Unlimited Discovery
Chris’s ability to work in an inclusive way is evident by the range of groups he connects to. Rangatahi, Pākeke, Pasifika, Muslim, Rainbow, Disabilities, Education, Ministry’s, Councils, Corporates, Philothropics and other funders. His approach to all is the same; Whanaungatanga, Manaakitanga and Honotanga. He is guided by Te Tiriti o Waitangi, he truly wants to support tāngata whenua to have Tino Rangatiratanga and that Matauranga Māori is a taonga which needs to given the mana it requires to be embedded in
best practice.
Te Ao Marama Apiata, ARA Institute of Technology, Leadership Lab
Chris is an inspirational leader in change management, and I had the privilege of working with him through the Executive Development Programme at the University of Canterbury. The discovery process he facilitated around being a 'change agent' provided valuable insights for personal growth, and I highly recommend his considerable people skills -

"Kia ora koutou - ko Chris Jansen tōku ingoa. It's fantastic to work alongside leaders as they grow to trust each other and then collaborate in ways that make a real difference to the communities that they are involved with"
Chris is a founding director and senior consultant with Leadership Lab where he works alongside organisations in the education, health, social services and community sectors in a range of projects.
These include design and delivery of leadership development programmes, change management initiatives, organisational capability and strategic planning where leadership labs are currently being implemented with groups of 25-40 leaders over 9-12 months in a range of sectors including health, social services, education and local government.
Chris is also involved in executive coaching and regularly facilitates workshops and presentations at conferences and with a range of organisations around New Zealand, Australia, the Pacific and Asia. Between 2006 and 2020, Chris was a Senior Fellow at the University of Canterbury, where he taught and supervised leaders studying the Post Graduate Diploma of Strategic Leadership and Masters of Business Management (MBA).
Chris is particularly passionate about the wellbeing of Māori and Pasifika young people and their whanau/communities. He has also been involved in the NGO community development and social service sector for many years, both locally though Te Ora Hou Ōtautahi (an indigenous youth development organisation) and also in the Pacific Islands (Ola Fou development project).
